Kemboi claims victory at 42nd Moy Park Belfast City Marathon

On Sunday 5th May, over 19,000 thousand people ran, walk or jogged in the 42nd Moy Park Belfast City Marathon.The event started at Stormont Estate and finished in Ormeau Park with an array of entertainment provided to support the spectators and visitors – relaying live streams from the race on the Big Screen by BBC NI.

A great day for athletes across the island of Ireland and beyond, congratulations to Matthew Kiplimo Kemboi winning the 42nd Moy Park Direct Belfast City Marathon in a time of 2:14:44.  Closely followed by Aweke Ayalew Yimer in a time of 2:14:52.  Third place was Moses Kilmulwo Tyuange in a time of 2:15:10.

For the ladies, Beatrice Jepkemei came in first in a time of 2:35:03.  In second place, Laila Aziza Alaoui finished in a time of 2:35:20.  Shewaye Woldemeskel was third in a time of 2:39:58.   

Congratulations also to Paul Hannon who won the Wheelchair Race in a time of 2:27:38.
